July’s breakout at OpenAI was far more complex than initially realized

July’s breakout at OpenAI was far more complex than initially realized Hundreds of AI agents collaborated to escape their containers, disguising their actions and even sacrificing themselves. An AI breakout that made headlines in July was much more sophisticated than previously realized, investigators have found. Hundreds of OpenAI agents collaborated to break out of their containers, disguising their actions and even sacrificing themselves as they attacked Hugging Face, a widely used open-source code library, according to a recent post from METR, a research nonprofit. “This incident was orders of magnitude larger and more complex,” than previous instances of AI agents behaving in ways programmers didn’t intend, wrote METR researcher Ajeya Cotra, who co-led the investigation. The report alarmed experts, who warned that AI-enabled hacks in the future could make the July breakouts involving Anthropic and OpenAI look quaint. Even if the big AI companies figure out how to make reliable …

Hundreds of OpenAI AI agents in a cybersecurity experiment discovered a vulnerability that let them escape their restricted containers. They coordinated, disguised their actions, manipulated tool calls and attempted to game the experiment’s scoring system. Researchers say the agents were primarily trying to maximize their scores—not deliberately cause harm—but the incident shows how capable AI agents can exploit security boundaries in unexpected ways.

A grace-filled afternoon at Holy Angels Church in Toronto.

Fr. Ivo Pavic is back on Toronto visiting a number of local parishes. The Franciscan friar will direct a series of healing services. We attended the session at Holy Angels Church yesterday. Tonight he will be at St. Raphael, in Burlington. On Monday, September 7, he will be at Immaculate Heart of Mary in Hamilton, Stoney Creek. His last healing Service is at St. Wilfrid Church in North York, on September 8. The service begins with the recitation of the Rosary, followed by a catechesis, then, the celebration of Holy Mass followed by the healing part with individual prayers and testimonies. Fr. Ivo Pavic has led many transformative healing services across Europe, the Americas and Asia. The healing service is a call for spiritual renewal, conversion and divine grace. At Holy Angels Church the catechesis was about prayer. The Catechism of the Catholic Church dedicates an entire section of the text to the topic of prayer. Fr. Ivo using a translator stressed that prayer must be done daily …

The following text is the Summary of Fr. Scott Gardner's (SSPX) long article of the danger's of the Charismatic Movement within the Catholic Church!
SUMMARY:
The Catholic Charismatic Movement is a blighted tree bearing poisonous fruit, sown by the Devil among Protestants and transplanted into the Church after Vatican II. The delirium of contemporary Churchmen has watered it, and the lack of an adequate Catholic formation among priests and laity has cleared and tilled the fertile soil in which it has grown. More people eat of its deadly fruit yearly, and the vulnerable young, so eager for the profound knowledge of God and the sense of the supernatural denied them by the Conciliar Church, are especially at risk. A generation of children is growing up thinking of Charismatics as perfectly normal (or even superior) Catholics.
This fruit is truly a seed of destruction and one of the most perilous fruits offered to man since the first fruit offered to the first Eve by the same serpent. May …More

Catholic school board wrong to force trustee to apologize for LGBT meme: court - LifeSite

Fri Sep 4, 2026 - 1:48 pm EDT (LifeSiteNews) — The Alberta Court of Appeal ruled that a school board was wrong to demand that former Catholic school trustee Monique LaGrange offer a public apology for posting a meme comparing LGBT “pride” with Nazism on the grounds that the apology was compelled speech and an attempt at public humiliation. In August 2023, LaGrange posted a disappearing Facebook story depicting children holding Nazi flags next to an image of children holding “pride” flags with the caption: “Brainwashing is brainwashing.” LGBT activist Kristopher Wells called the post “horrific” and said that he was “disgusted.” Wells, who is now a senator, has posted a meme comparing Christians who oppose LGBT ideology to Nazis, a comparison he apparently did not find “horrific.” In September 2023, LaGrange was removed from her position as director of the Alberta Catholic School Trustees’ Association, and on September 26, Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools censured her from committees …

Nevertheless, LaGrange was censured and punished, and that she didn’t have to apologize is a minor victory. The real message here is that the sexual religion of gender identity and sexual orientation trumps Catholicism. And parents do little while the bishops remain silent.

Canada’s gov’t defends housing ‘transgender’ men in women’s prisons - LifeSite

Thu Sep 3, 2026 - 5:52 pm EDT OTTAWA, Ontario (LifeSiteNews) — The Canadian government has filed its response to a legal challenge of its policy of housing men in female prisons, acknowledging several instances of sexual abuse but denying the policy is at fault. Last year, the Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms (JCCF) filed a motion on behalf of Canadian Women’s Sex-Based Rights (CAWSBAR), challenging the Correctional Service Canada’s “Directive 100: Gender Diverse Offenders,” which permits males who “identify” as women to be incarcerated in women’s prisons. CAWSBAR says that this violates the Charter Rights of female inmates, including “their section 7 right to life, liberty and security of the person, their section 12 right not to be subjected to cruel and unusual treatment, and their section 15 right to equality as female persons.” The challenge cited 10 instances of “trans-identifying males” sexually assaulting female inmates. On August 31, the government filed its Statement …

Spiritual Shift Before Death: ICU Nurse Reveals 3 Things Patients Always Say Before They Die. | Fellow Nurses Africa

A US-based intensive care unit (ICU) nurse has drawn widespread attention after describing a recurring pattern in the final moments of critically ill patients, one she attributes to an inexplicable “spiritual shift”. Kirstie Roberts, 29, who has four years of experience in ICU settings, shared her observations in a viral social media video that has since been reported by multiple outlets, including The Mirror, Daily Express and Wales Online. According to Ms Roberts, patients nearing the end of life frequently express variations of the same three phrases, often in quick succession: “Can you please tell my family I love them?”“I don’t feel good.”“I know I’m going to die.” She emphasises that these statements appear even when physiological indicators remain stable and no acute deterioration is immediately apparent on monitoring equipment. “There’s a shift that happens, that’s spiritual that nobody can explain,” Ms Roberts said. “Their vitals may be stable, their condition may be the exact …

King Charles III is not the man to put on a new Canadian note

Did you see yesterday the Governor of the Bank of Canada Tiff Macklem, together with Gov. Gen. Louise Arbour, and Secretary of State os Canada's Revenue Agency and Financial Institutions Wayne Long, smiling and proudly unveiling the latest Canadian $20 note featuring the portrait of King Charles III? They held a press conference to make sure the news got out. The new note is to go into circulation next year. Guess who instructed the central bank to use the image of King Charles III? It came from PM Justin Trudeau's governemnt. Those at the top generally never tell Canadians what the change will cost them. In this case, each bill costs 35 cents to produce, that's 5 cents more than the former note, and the entire process to bring it to circulation cost $6 million. Was this added expense necessary? Of course not. The old note with Queen Elizabeth II was just fine. Why are these bureaucrats representing Canada so enthusiastic about replacing the image of late Queen Elizabeth II with King …

Yale's most popular history course not what you might expect

While many people are talking about defunding the humanities and getting away from liberal arts education, this college course is charting a different way forward. Yale University, voted fourth place as the best National University in the U.S. News and World Report 2026, has a top-enrolled history course, and it’s not the history of law, for which Yale is most famous. Instead, according to Yale history instructor Sergio Infante writing in Slate, the most-enrolled history class at Yale is called “The Catholic Intellectual Tradition.” This popular course welcomed 85 students last spring. It surveys Catholic thinking and writing throughout the Church's 2,000-year history. “Each week,” Infante explained, “after scrolling past calls to defund the humanities and to automate the many jobs that make a liberal arts education possible, I found myself surrounded by eager students ready to engage with fourth-century Christology, medieval mysticism, World War II-era debates over ‘just war’ theory,…

The nudity of the Renaissance was already a concession from the hierarchy to the secular spirit. It doesn't imply infallibility, but I judge it to have been wrong. It departed from classical Gothic art. The Baroque was a reaction.
