Spanish Pro-Homosex Priest Leaves Priesthood

Damián Montes Nieto has announced in an Instagram video that he is finally leaving the priesthood: “I have decided to withdraw from the exercise of priestly ministry.”
He was a Redemptorist and ordained to the priesthood in 2013 at the Santuario del Perpetuo Socorro in Granada, Spain.
He prefers to keep private the “serious reasons” that turned his ministry into a “very sad and very difficult” experience.
Looking to the future, he hopes for “the opportunity for a new life, shared with someone, or to start my own family.”
He has taken up employment within an educational community and has assumed the role of Academic Vice Director at an international institution. Montes was "born a poet and an artist.”
As a missionary priest, Montes had the opportunity to visit countries such as India, Honduras, Thailand, and Colombia, as well as various cities in Spain and Italy.
Radical Pro-Homosex Priest
Montes was one of the most openly homosex-affirming Catholic priests in Spain.

Leo XIV Sings World Youth Day Anthem with Children: Yesterday, Leo XIV joined children attending the Vatican’s summer program Estate Ragazzi in singing Jesus Christ, You Are My Life in the Paul VI Hall. Sound on.

Papa Leone XIV ha vissuto un momento musicale speciale con i bambini di Estate Ragazzi in Vaticano, unendosi a loro nel canto di Jesus Christ, You Are My Life nell’Aula Paolo VI.

Rejection of permission for lay preaching sparks negative reactions and open defiance of Rome

Those who ask in Rome get an answer: The German bishops received a refusal from Rome regarding their request for permission for laypeople to preach. They are answerable to the faithful who desire reform—and dissatisfaction is running high.
The Vatican is not granting the German bishops permission to allow laypeople to preach during Mass. The Roman authority responsible for matters of divine worship announced the decision on Tuesday. It was also a topic of discussion at a meeting of local bishops in Berlin on Tuesday, according to the spokesperson for the German Bishops' Conference. Nevertheless, the Central Committee of German Catholics (ZdK) expects the bishops to secure a special arrangement for laypeople.
ZdK President Irme Stetter-Karp stated that they had "not been involved" in the request. It is a fact, she noted, that the Synodal Path had adopted the text "Proclamation of the Gospel by Laypeople in Word and Sacrament" in March 2023, with significant participation from the bishops …

Empty Words: Vatican Denies Indult for Ubiquitous Lay Preaching

The Vatican has rejected – on paper only – a request from the German Bishops' Conference to permit lay people to preach during the Eucharist by means of an "indult."
A June 17 letter, written by Cardinal Arthur Roche, Prefect of the Dicastery for Divine Worship, was published on Dbk.de.
The German bishops' proposal sought permission to allow lay employees, in the usual exceptional circumstances, to deliver a "homiletic reflection" following the Gospel during the Eucharist.
In his reply, Cardinal Roche claims with canon law that the homily is an integral part of the liturgy [only since Pius X] and is reserved to a priest or deacon. He stresses that the reservation of the homily to clergy is not merely a disciplinary norm and does not depend on theological competence or communication skills.
Cardinal Roche disputes the claim that current pastoral circumstances require an exception. Where a priest is present to celebrate the Eucharist, he is also present to preach. Where no priest is …ఇంకా

Video message of the Holy Father on the occasion …
Dear friends,
I am happy to greet all of you as you gather in various locations for the Steubenville Summer Youth Conferences during the year that marks the fiftieth anniversary of these encounters. As you might know, this year we are also celebrating the eight-hundredth anniversary of the death of Saint Francis. Since this event is organized by the Franciscan University of Steubenville, I thought it would be fitting to reflect upon the message Saint Francis might have for young people today. I think that he could speak to us about many things, but especially authentic peace and perfect joy, for these themes were an important part of his life.
If you had met Saint Francis on the streets of Assisi in the thirteenth century, he might have looked at you with a serene and loving smile, and said: “Pace e bene,” that is “Peace and all good.” This was the way that Saint Francis often greeted people, and it expresses one of the desires in …ఇంకా

Leo XIV: "Church’s Mission to Uphold Human Dignity and Foster Fraternity"

- "Your institution’s commitment resonates profoundly with the Catholic Church’s mission to uphold human dignity and to foster fraternity."
- "The Catholic Church is oftentimes a partner in collaboration with the programmes that you oversee and that you work in."
- "A renewed commitment to multilateral cooperation is essential."
- "In an increasingly fragmented and multipolar world, no single State can address global challenges alone."
- "Lasting peace and integral, sustainable human development are possible only through the participation of all, fostered by genuine international dialogue and cooperation oriented toward the common good."
- "Such an approach requires a firm political will capable of transcending short-term perspectives and investing in global …ఇంకా

The Bergoglio Method: Ambiguity, Power and Control

Damian Thompson interprets on 0The Spectator (June 23) the Francis' pontificate through the theory of charismatic authority. Francis emerges as a Peronist-style ruler who cultivated ambiguity, governed through unpredictability, weakened institutions, protected loyal allies, and increasingly centralised power around himself. Main quotes.
- “The theology of the Bergoglio pontificate has a curiously schizophrenic quality.”
- “… previously magisterial Catholic teaching on difficult topics such as divorce and homosexuality was somehow negotiable”.
- “…intentional imprecision of language, a tendency to caricature critics rather than engage with their arguments,…”
- “…his willingness to contradict himself. One moment he was inviting the LGBT lobby to the Vatican; the next, he was using Roman slang to mock homosexuals.”
- “He compared abortionists to paid assassins; he also allowed pro-abortion Catholic politicians to receive Holy Communion and appointed ‘pro-choice’ academics to …ఇంకా

Faithful Family Leaves Eucharist during Folk Dance: Yesterday, Bree Solstad shared a video on social media showing a man performing what appears to be an Irish or Scottish folk dance in front of the altar during the Eucharistic liturgy. During the dance, one family can be seen genuflecting and leaving the church. According to Solstad, the video was recorded on June 21, though she does not disclose the name of the parish. Solstad is a former pornography producer who announced in 2024 that she had left the adult industry and converted to the Church.

Bree Solstad on X: "This happened during the Mass yesterday. 🤦‍♀️ Note the one family that bent the knee to Christ and got the heck out of there. 🙌"

What the Consistory Reveals About Leo XIV

Yesterday, the Vatican published the program for the Consistory of June 26–27, thus providing a picture of the themes, personalities, and processes that Leo XIV wants for the Church. The scheduling information had already been leaked on June 17.
Francis' Personnel Remains
The Vatican has entrusted the four principal sessions to Cardinals Grzegorz Ryś (Poland), Víctor Manuel Fernández (Curia), Stephen Brislin (South Africa), and Mario Grech (Curia).
All four are prominent figures associated with Francis' "project".
Cardinals Fernández and Grech are homosexual activists.
Francis' Synodal Procedures Remain
MessaInLatino immediately noted that the structure of the meeting is unmistakably similar to the synods of Francis: small groups, listening sessions, synthesis reports, and strictly timed interventions.
Two of the four sessions are organized around Leo XIV's encyclical Magnifica humanitas. This means discussions about peace, reconciliation, social fragmentation, technology, and power. …ఇంకా

It's not about an unofficial mascot that won the world's attention, but it is the family he follows. a hardworking Mexican family, Mother and children. A son with psychological problems and works to make a living to help his mother, and a young kid who follows his mother on the streets to sell water bottles along with his duck that has now become a symbol of resilience, unity, family values and love, and the unofficial mascot of the World Cup 2026 hosted in 3 countries, Canada, Mexico and the U.S. where the finals will be played. Worth listening to their testimonies and even more priceless to see other unofficial interviews of them representing a friendly, loving, welcoming and hardworking humble nation. God bless Mexico, second home of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Profile
Daughter of Fortino García and Refugio Zavala de García; her father ran a religious goods store in front of the Basilica of Our Lady of Zapopan, and Maria grew up with a devotion to Our Lady. As a young woman she was engaged to marry but gave in to a call to religious life; with Father Cipriano Iñiguez she co-founded and served as the first mother superior of the Handmaids of Saint Margaret Mary and of the Poor. Worked as a nurse to the poor, and any time the Handmaids ran short of money, she would go begging for money to support their hospital. At great risk, she hid priests and the archbishop of Guadalajara from the anti-Catholic authorities during the Mexican Revolution.

The future saint was born to an upper-middle-class merchant family in the state of Jalisco on April 27, 1878. She was named Anastasia, but went by María, one of the names assigned to her at her christening. María’s father, Fortino García, owned a store selling religious merchandise located next to the Cathedral of Zapopan, now the Basilica of Our Lady of Zapopan. Please see Mexico Unexplained Episode #56 to learn more about the Virgin of Zapopan. As a young girl, María would accompany her father to the family’s religious goods store and would always stop into the cathedral to pray to the Virgin there or to take contemplative walks on the cathedral’s grounds. María’s daily visits to one of the most visited Catholic shrines in Mexico exposed her to many aspects of humanity. People came to the shrine to pray out of desperation for a loved one or for an impossible situation. The extremely poor, the handicapped, or indigenous people newly arrived from the countryside were regular fixtures …ఇంకా

Toward the Spirit: Why Faithful Catholics Need to Recover the Patristic and Scholastic Vision of Marriage
Faithful Catholics today find themselves in an unusual position.
On one side stands a secular culture that has largely abandoned Christian morality altogether. Marriage has been redefined, chastity ridiculed, fertility treated as a burden, and self-denial dismissed as unhealthy. Against these errors, faithful Catholics rightly defend the Church's teaching.
Yet another danger confronts us—one far more subtle.
It is possible to defend Catholic morality while gradually losing sight of the theological vision that once animated it.
We may continue to affirm the Church's teachings while forgetting the spiritual principles that gave those teachings their shape. We may preserve the conclusions while neglecting the foundations.
This danger is especially evident in the realm of marriage.
The Catholic Church continues to teach the sanctity of marriage, the evil of contraception, the goodness …ఇంకా

"Our Lady never left the house, unless obliged by some pressing circumstance; but a woman, their neighbor and relative, she who had served St. Joseph during the sojourn of the Blessed Virgin at the house of Zachariah, took charge of their external affairs. She was abundantly recompensed for these services, not only in her own advancement in perfection, but her family also felt the beneficent effects of the protection of the holy family. The august Mary many times healed their maladies, and filled them with heavenly benedictions."

Chapter VI ~ MODE OF LIFE OF THE AUGUST MARY AND ST. JOSEPH.— CONVERSATIONS BETWEEN THEM AND OTHER REMARKABLE CIRCUMSTANCES
THE humble house of Joseph, which our XM saints made their dwelling-place,
consist- ed of three chambers only. St. Joseph slept in one of these, and used another as a work- shop, where the tools were deposited which served for use in his trade of carpenter. The third, which contained a small bed, the work of our saint, was appropriated to the Queen of Heaven, who slept there, and made it her ordinary abode. This order was established from the date of their marriage.
Before he was informed of her dignity, the saintly husband rarely, except when some affair obliged him to ask her advice, visited his wife, Behe he was engaged with his work, and Ane remained in her retreat.
