Russian Tourists Face Deportation After Reading Bible at Hagia Sophia: Russian tourists Igor and Viktoria Filonov were detained in Istanbul after reading a passage from the Bible while visiting the upper gallery of Hagia Sophia. The couple was transferred to a migrant detention center. Turkish authorities investigate the "case" under a law related to "incitement to hatred".
Gunther Eagleman™ @GuntherEagleman Just months before 9/11, the World Trade Center's lease was privatized and sold to Larry Silverstein. Silverstein took out an insurance plan that 'fortuitously' covered terrorism. After 9/11, Silverstein took the insurance company to court, claiming he should be paid double because there were 2 attacks. Silverstein won, and was awarded $4,550,000,000.
Football Fan Mass in Argentina. Worse than Germany: On 16 July, football fan signs, including altar decorations, flags, hats and shirts, were incorporated into a Mass at the Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria parish in Córdoba's Villa Argentina neighbourhood. The service was led by Rev. Luis Luján. He explained that the idea was to stay close to people and use the excitement around the national team to communicate Gospel values.
I wonder if we're taking this World Cup business too far. Father "Lucho", Our Lady of Candelaria Parish, Villa Argentina neighborhood, Córdoba. Visit our Blog: pagina-catolica.blogspot.com
Women-Led Liturgy of the Word with Bread and Grapes: During a Liturgy of the Word at the chapel on Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, two female pastoral assistants blessed a candle dedicated to the “female apostle” Mary Magdalene - alongside the chapel's traditional twelve apostle candles. A symbolic ritual in which bread and grapes were shared also took place. Participants held the bread and fruit reverently in their hands, almost as though they were sacred elements. The pictures were published by the Archdiocese of Munich.

1) Psalm 87:3; Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of God. 2) Song of Songs 1:3 Delicate is the fragrance of your perfume. Your Name is a calming scent; that is why the maidens love you. Draw me in your footsteps. 3) Psalm 45:10; At Your right hand stands a Queen, adorned with gold of Ophir. 4) Songs of Songs 6:3; You are beautiful as Tirzah, my love, fair as Jerusalem. Turn your eyes away, for they hold me captive. 5) Isaiah 61:10; “I exult for joy in Yahweh; my soul rejoices in my God, for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation and wrapped me in the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom adorns himself with a garland, and like a bride adorned in her jewels.” 6) Song of Songs 6:9-10; My dove is unique, mine, unique and perfect. She is the favorite of the One who bore Her. The maidens saw Her, and proclaimed Her blessed, Queens and concubines sang Her praises. “Who is this arising like the dawn, fair as the moon, resplendent as the sun, terrible as an army in battle …Дэлгэрэнгүй
Humpback Whale Crucified among Priests, Altar Servers and an Altar: The blasphemous play Timmy: Hope Dies Last, which premiered on 11 July at the Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg, Germany, portrays the stranded humpback whale Timmy as a Christ-like figure. Directed by Alexander Klessinger, the production features a 'Mass for Timmy', a crucifixion. The production was inspired by Timmy, whose stranding in the Baltic Sea this spring prompted a nationwide rescue effort. The whale was found dead off the coast of Denmark approximately two weeks after being freed. The operation reportedly cost around €2 million.
Дэлгэрэнгүй
26 Years Later: Why Jeanette Hall Is Still Grateful to Be Alive: In Oregon, USA, on July 17, 2000, Jeanette Hall was diagnosed with colorectal cancer. Believing she had no future, she asked her doctor for assisted suicide under Oregon's newly enacted law. Instead of writing the prescription, Dr. Kenneth Stevens took the time to understand her fears and encouraged her to consider treatment. One question changed everything: "Wouldn't you like to see your son graduate from the police academy?" Jeanette chose treatment. She survived, attended her son's graduation, and years later told Dr. Stevens: "You saved my life. If I had gone to a doctor that believed in assisted suicide, I would not be here."
In a statement published on July 16, the Society of Saint Pius X asserted that “Pope Francis’s grants of confessional faculties and for the ability of the SSPX priests to obtain marriage delegation remain in force”—two weeks after the Vatican stated they were no longer in force.
The Archdiocese of Paris had planned to withdraw from the chapel Notre-Dame-du-Lys by June because of the cost of repairing the aging buildings - €1 million in the short term and about €3 million over the longer term. The proposal would have abolished both, the Novus Ordo and the Latin Mass that are celebrated in the Church. The Sunday Latin Mass drew around 150–250 faithful, while the Wednesday Latin Mass was dedicated to young people. Following strong opposition from parishioners and supporters of the chapel, the plan was revised. Instead, a religious community will assume responsibility for the chapel and its youth patronage beginning in September. This change has since been confirmed on the chapel's official website, although the announcement refers only to "a Community" composed of a priest and a seminarian, without identifying the institute. According to PaixLiturgique.org, Paris Archdiocese considered entrusting the chapel to the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (…Дэлгэрэнгүй
The new homosex club ‘Divine Playhouse’ in Sydney has temporarily closed after its landlord ordered it to "cease carrying on offensive trade", reports Abc.net.au on July 15. The venue opened on 8 July in a former Catholic church. Deconsecrated in 1932, the building has operated as a theatre and performance space for decades. The club's closure followed protests by around 70 Catholics who gathered outside the venue to pray the rosary and object to the mockery of Christian beliefs. Performances included transvestites dressed as nuns, alcohol labelled as 'unholy water', and parodies of the Eucharist. Following the demonstrations, the venue's landlord issued a breach notice. As a result, the operators have cancelled all upcoming events while considering legal action. #newsMyokhnosao
I believe that any building the Church has used for Mass, if the Church wants to sell it, the edifice should be destroyed so no unholy actions ever happen there.
A City of London Banker Takes the Helm at the Vatican Bank: On 15 July, the Vatican's Institute for the Works of Religion (IOR) announced the appointment of Giovanni Boscia as its next Director General. He will take office on 1 October, succeeding Gian Franco Mammì after eleven years. Unlike his predecessor, who spent his entire career within the IOR, Boscia comes from international finance. Before joining the Vatican in 2019, he spent nearly three decades in the City of London with leading global investment banks, including Wall Street firms Salomon Brothers and Citigroup, as well as RBS and Credit Suisse First Boston.
The bistro on the Dome will be built. Appeals, discontent within the Curia, nor a petition promoted by figures from the Catholic world were enough to stop the most debated project of recent months in the Vatican. After a long period of silence, the work has been completed and, unless there is direct intervention from Leo XIV, the refreshment point should open as early as September on the terrace of St. Peter’s, at the highest and most panoramic point of the complex, among the gigantic statues of the Apostles... ...The initiative was personally overseen by Cardinal Mauro Gambetti, archpriest of St. Peter’s. His five-year mandate has meanwhile expired, and Leo XIV has not yet decided whether to renew it. According to reliable sources, the original project foresaw a large restaurant with capacity for hundreds of people. Subsequently, the plan was scaled down, though the philosophy remained unchanged. In recent days, some managers from the Fabbrica di San Pietro, who supervised the set-up …Дэлгэрэнгүй
