Reflecting on the war in Gaza, Cardinal Pizzaballa compared the region's future reconstruction to Norcia's recovery after the 2016 earthquake. During his visit, he joined the monks for the Roman Rite liturgy, encouraged their vocation of prayer, and toured the monastery's growing apostolates, including an educational apostolate, guesthouse, and brewery.
Russian Tourists Face Deportation After Reading Bible at Hagia Sophia: Russian tourists Igor and Viktoria Filonov were detained in Istanbul after reading a passage from the Bible while visiting the upper gallery of Hagia Sophia. The couple was transferred to a migrant detention center. Turkish authorities investigate the "case" under a law related to "incitement to hatred".

Women-Led Liturgy of the Word with Bread and Grapes: During a Liturgy of the Word at the chapel on Germany's highest mountain, Zugspitze, two female pastoral assistants blessed a candle dedicated to the “female apostle” Mary Magdalene - alongside the chapel's traditional twelve apostle candles. A symbolic ritual in which bread and grapes were shared also took place. Participants held the bread and fruit reverently in their hands, almost as though they were sacred elements. The pictures were published by the Archdiocese of Munich.

The new homosex club ‘Divine Playhouse’ in Sydney has temporarily closed after its landlord ordered it to "cease carrying on offensive trade", reports Abc.net.au on July 15. The venue opened on 8 July in a former Catholic church. Deconsecrated in 1932, the building has operated as a theatre and performance space for decades. The club's closure followed protests by around 70 Catholics who gathered outside the venue to pray the rosary and object to the mockery of Christian beliefs. Performances included transvestites dressed as nuns, alcohol labelled as 'unholy water', and parodies of the Eucharist. Following the demonstrations, the venue's landlord issued a breach notice. As a result, the operators have cancelled all upcoming events while considering legal action. #newsMyokhnosao
I believe that any building the Church has used for Mass, if the Church wants to sell it, the edifice should be destroyed so no unholy actions ever happen there.
The Archdiocese of Paris had planned to withdraw from the chapel Notre-Dame-du-Lys by June because of the cost of repairing the aging buildings - €1 million in the short term and about €3 million over the longer term. The proposal would have abolished both, the Novus Ordo and the Latin Mass that are celebrated in the Church. The Sunday Latin Mass drew around 150–250 faithful, while the Wednesday Latin Mass was dedicated to young people. Following strong opposition from parishioners and supporters of the chapel, the plan was revised. Instead, a religious community will assume responsibility for the chapel and its youth patronage beginning in September. This change has since been confirmed on the chapel's official website, although the announcement refers only to "a Community" composed of a priest and a seminarian, without identifying the institute. According to PaixLiturgique.org, Paris Archdiocese considered entrusting the chapel to the Institute of Christ the King Sovereign Priest (…Daplü
Humpback Whale Crucified among Priests, Altar Servers and an Altar: The blasphemous play Timmy: Hope Dies Last, which premiered on 11 July at the Ernst Deutsch Theater in Hamburg, Germany, portrays the stranded humpback whale Timmy as a Christ-like figure. Directed by Alexander Klessinger, the production features a 'Mass for Timmy', a crucifixion. The production was inspired by Timmy, whose stranding in the Baltic Sea this spring prompted a nationwide rescue effort. The whale was found dead off the coast of Denmark approximately two weeks after being freed. The operation reportedly cost around €2 million.
Leo XIV May Replace Cardinal Parolin as Secretary of State: The Substack.com account The Pillar speculates that Leo XIV could replace Cardinal Pietro Parolin, 71, as Secretary of State as early as this summer. Citing anonymous Vatican sources, it says Leo XIV has concerns about Parolin's effectiveness in coordinating Vatican departments. The article identifies Archbishop Paul Gallagher, 72, and Archbishop Fortunatus Nwachukwu, 66, as the leading candidates.
At the largest and most influential of these, the Secretariat of State, Pope Leo XIV could replace Cardinal Pietro Parolin as Secretary of State as early as this summer, according to several diplomatic and Vatican sources who spoke to The Pillar... ...The question of who might succeed Gambetti at Saint Peter’s is more complicated. Vatican sources told The Pillar that Parolin himself might be appointed to the position. However, other senior sources told The Pillar that the pope intended to move Cardinal Rolandas Makrickas, current archpriest of the Basilica of Saint Mary Major to the position, while other rumors point to the appointment of Archbishop Diego Ravelli, Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations...
Cardinal Gambetti Expected to Leave St. Peter's Basilica: According to AdVaticanum, Cardinal Mauro Gambetti is expected to step down as Archpriest of St. Peter's Basilica by the end of the summer and become Archbishop of Chieti, a move seen as a demotion. The report attributes the change to Gambetti's fatigue after several demanding years, as well as controversies over security incidents at the basilica, administrative reforms, and other disputes. It also says his close association with Father Enzo Fortunato, who faced criticism over the World Children's Day initiative, weakened his position.
Three reasons: -Multiple personal leadership failures -Open war with the Chapter of Canons over power, money… and plastic chairs - The fallout from his initial trust with Fr Enzo Fortunato, whose handling of World Children’s Day left questions about wasted money, who is expected to leave anyways
