Brazilian Bishop: Young People Have Right to Traditional Liturgy

Young people have the right to more traditional forms of liturgical experience, said Bishop Joel Portela Amado, 71, of Petrópolis, at a press conference of the Brazil Bishops in Aparecida, according to AciDigital.com.
A journalist asked about a possible “return” of the Mass in the Roman rite and spoke about “young people who kneel to receive Communion” and “wear veils”.
Bishop Joel replied it is important to consider broader trends, citing 2022 census data showing the highest number of people without religion is among those aged 19 to 39.
“It’s not that they don’t believe in God. They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said.
Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with.
For him, such “diversity” is legitimate: “Do they have the right to be like this? Yes, because Catholicism is plural by nature, especially in a deeply plural world,” he said. …Dabalata

In other words, Catholics have the right to the true Mass. Who would have thought?

"They are ‘unchurched’ - they believe in God, but lack a concrete path within the Church,” he said. Bishop Joel suggested this can lead young people to seek religious reference points, sometimes in past forms they did not grow up with." No, actually, it's because they finally find the transcendent, the supernatural, the Divine, "the true, the good and the beautiful" in the Traditional Latin Mass, vs. the pure, horizontal humanism of the Novus Ordo. Grace operating in young, idealistic, fresh souls who want something more than what this world offers.

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 6,22-29.
[After Jesus had fed the five thousand men, his disciples saw him walking on the sea.] The next day, the crowd that remained across the sea saw that there had been only one boat there, and that Jesus had not gone along with his disciples in the boat, but only his disciples had left.
Other boats came from Tiberias near the place where they had eaten the bread when the Lord gave thanks.
When the crowd saw that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they themselves got into boats and came to Capernaum looking for Jesus.
And when they found him across the sea they said to him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"
Jesus answered them and said, "Amen, amen, I say to you, you are looking for me not because you saw signs but because you ate the loaves and were filled.
Do not work for food that perishes but for the food that endures for eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him the Father, God, has set his seal."

If you act spontaneously and without thinking, neither friend nor foe will be able to guess your intentions. This is how the basis for the U.S. president’s decisions can be described. We are currently witnessing a blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which was ordered personally by the U.S. president.
The Liberia-flagged bulk carrier Christianna crossed after unloading 74,000 tons of corn at the Iranian port of Bandar Imam Khomeini, passing Iran’s Larak Island in the strait around 1600 GMT on April 13, Kpler data showed.
A second ship, the Comoros-flagged tanker Elpis, was near Larak Island around 1100 GMT and cleared the strait about 1600 GMT. It was loaded with 31,000 tons of methanol, having left the Iranian port of Bushehr on March 31, Kpler data showed. Source.

Acts of the Apostles 6,8-15.
Stephen, filled with grace and power, was working great wonders and signs among the people.
Certain members of the so-called Synagogue of Freedmen, Cyrenians, and Alexandrians, and people from Cilicia and Asia, came forward and debated with Stephen,
but they could not withstand the wisdom and the spirit with which he spoke.
Then they instigated some men to say, "We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God."
They stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes, accosted him, seized him, and brought him before the Sanhedrin.
They presented false witnesses who testified, "This man never stops saying things against (this) holy place and the law.
For we have heard him claim that this Jesus the Nazorean will destroy this place and change the customs that Moses handed down to us."
All those who sat in the Sanhedrin looked intently at him and saw that his face was like the face of an angel.

Apostelgeschichte 6,8-15.
Doch einige von der sogenannten Synagoge der Libertiner und Kyrenäer und Alexandriner und Leute aus Kilikien und der Provinz Asien erhoben sich, um mit Stephanus zu streiten;

‘THE INTERIOR CASTLE OR THE MANSIONS’ by Saint Teresa of Avila – ‘DESCRIBES THE HIDEOUS APPEARANCE OF A SOUL IN MORTAL SIN’; Chapter II; pages 7-8, points 1-6

[Saint Teresa of Avila XVI Century AD; Avila, Crown of Castile, Spanish Monarchy/Alba de Tormes, Crown of Castile, Spanish Monarchy; Aged 67; Virgin; Doctor of the Church; Mystic; Writer; Reformer]
“Chapter II ~ DESCRIBES THE HIDEOUS APPEARANCE OF A SOUL IN MORTAL SIN AS REVEALED BY GOD TO SOME ONE: OFFERS A FEW REMARKS ON SELFKNOWLEDGE: THIS CHAPTER IS USEFUL AS IT CONTAINS SOME POINTS REQUIRING ATTENTION. AN EXPLANATION OF THE MANSIONS.
1. BEFORE going farther, I wish you to consider the state to which mortal sin
brings this magnificent and beautiful castle, this pearl of the East, this tree of life, planted beside the living waters of life which symbolize God Himself. No night can be so dark, no gloom nor blackness can compare to its obscurity. Suffice it to say that the sun in the centre of the soul, which gave it such splendour and beauty, is totally eclipsed, though the spirit is as fitted to enjoy God’s presence as is the crystal to reflect the sun.

"3. In a state of grace the soul is like a well of limpid water, from which flow only streams of clearest crystal. Its works are pleasing both to God and man, rising from the River of Life, beside which it is rooted like a tree. Otherwise it would produce neither leaves nor fruit, for the waters of grace nourish it, keep it from withering from drought, and cause it to bring forth good fruit. But the soul by sinning withdraws from this stream of life, and growing beside a black and fetid pool, can produce nothing but disgusting and unwholesome fruit."

Holy Gospel of Jesus Christ according to Saint John 3,31-36.
The one who comes from above is above all. The one who is of the earth is earthly and speaks of earthly things. But the one who comes from heaven is above all.
He testifies to what he has seen and heard, but no one accepts his testimony.
Whoever does accept his testimony certifies that God is trustworthy.
For the one whom God sent speaks the words of God. He does not ration his gift of the Spirit.
The Father loves the Son and has given everything over to him.
Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.

AYAAN HIRSI ALI: Pope Leo is Conspiring with Democrats to Harm Trump

On April 9, Pope Leo XIV met with David Axelrod, one of the most seasoned operators in the Democratic Party and the architect of Barack Obama‘s rise to power; four days later, Leo delivered the first in a series of pointed public critiques of President Donald Trump and his Republican administration.
Hal Lambert, the founder of Point Bridge Capital and one of the more clear-eyed observers of the intersection between American politics and institutional power, saw coordination where others saw coincidence.
‘This is 100 percent political, ok? This is all about trying to hurt President Trump’s Catholic vote during the midterms and Republicans in the midterms,’ Lambert said Monday on CNN.
A Pope who breaks bread with partisan operatives and emerges days later to attack a sitting president has ceased, in my mind, to function as a shepherd of souls. He has become, instead, a political actor—and a graceless one at that. And this fits a recent pattern for the Vatican.
When Hamas butchered …

Pope Leo encounters his legendary Spiritual Father in Yaoundé | Shalom World News
At the Catholic University of Central Africa in Yaoundé, Cameroon, a quiet yet deeply symbolic moment unfolds in Pope Leo's journey. Before him stands a newly unveiled statue of Saint Augustine of Hippo—his legendary ‘spiritual father’, the guiding light of his Augustinian vocation. Enveloped in a shell resembling Africa, the statue holds a book bearing the words “Tolle Lege”— “take up and read”—the very call that pierced Augustine’s heart and triggered his conversion. For Pope Leo, this is no distant history; it is a living echo. The same words that transformed Augustine continue to resonate in his own life, shaping his mission, his prayer, and his path as a shepherd of the Church. With reverence, the Holy Father blesses the statue, pausing as if in silent dialogue with the saint who has walked with him across the years. In that gesture lies more than ceremony—it is a moment of recognition, of …Dabalata
